It’s hard to know who you’re working with unless you know who you’re working with, am I right? So we’d like to introduce them to you. This way, you can get to know us better and understand who makes up our ERT family.
Brian Newman
Brian Newman decided to start Eastern Roof Technologies in December of 2011. It was the storm of March 2012 that put us on the map. After several years as an insurance agent, Brian wanted a change of pace on the other side of the insurance claims process. Always wanting to help people, Brian has used his construction management experience and business knowledge to provide a top-notch roofing restoration company to the Lake Norman community residents. Brian has lived in the area for over 20 years and has raised his children in Mooresville.
Keren Newman
Keren has lived in Mooresville since her family moved here from Charlotte in 1986. She and Brian started Eastern Roof Technologies together in December of 2011. Keren’s customer service background and business management experience help to keep things running smoothly at ERT. ERT mascot Sugar keeps everyone happy in the office.
Pete Geraffo
Pete has well over 10 years of coaching and team-building experience on and off the field, which made him a natural choice to build our team at Eastern Roof Technologies. Pete has served on and as President of the Lake Norman United (Lacrosse club) and was on the board for 10 years. He also has coached many youth teams including football, softball, basketball, boys and girls lacrosse over the years in Mooresville. Pete also coaches football at Lakeshore Middle School.
Mike Mink
Mike is originally from Long Island New York. He, his wife, Kristin, and their two children, Leah and Aaron, moved to Mooresville NC in 2015. Mike has experience installing roofs with his dad as a teenager and brings valuable experience to our team. Mike enjoys supporting his daughter’s gymnastics career and playing basketball with his son. As a former business owner, he brings next level of professionalism to his position as Production Manager for ERT. Although, he’s “Yankee” he loves living in the Lake Norman area and we are happy to have him on TEAM ERT!
Rebecca Wick
Rebecca has lived in North Carolina for 16+ years. Her father was a U.S. Veteran stationed in several locations North of us, throughout her upbringing. She came to ERT with A+ customer service, problem avoiding & solving skills. On board with accounting and general team support and office administration, Rebecca also creates our fun & informative social media posts. After several years as a Northerner, then 16 years here in the South, she considers herself a “SNoutherner,” along with her kids: Katie, Teddy, Marissa, & Alexis. and 3 grand kids that live too far away, 2 Pomsky Pups, a Kitty, and 8 GrandDogs. She joined our team in 2022, and said she is loving the team, customers, and work atmosphere. (And Chick-fil-a on Lunch Meeting Mondays!

Zach Speagle
Zach joins Team ERT with almost 20 years of construction experience. This knowledge will bring confidence to homeowners when exploring the world of roofing and gutters. Zach enjoys playing golf, hiking in the mountains and family time when not working. Have you ever seen “Forged in Fire”, the show with amateur blacksmiths making knives? Well, Zach is a knife connoisseur, who enjoys collecting and learning about knives. His cats, Pebbles and Bambam (clearly a Flintstones fan) are Zach’s furbabies.
Nick Johnston
Although new to roofing Nick’s passion for helping people in the health care field carries over to the team at ERT well. He lives on a small family farm in Enochville, NC raising cows, pigs, chickens, and turkeys with his wife, Jeanette. Nick enjoys experimenting with woodworking and helping people by empowering them with the knowledge to make better-informed decisions in his free time.
